Virginia Macedo (Vivi)

Certified Watsu and Waterdance Therapist

ViviSince 1986, Vivi has been studying and practicing bodywork and various healing modalities including Reiki, Aqua Cranial, Aqua Release Therapy, Rebirthing-Breathwork and Tantsu. Vivi has been involved with Watsu since 1996 when she met Harold Dull (the creator of Watsu) and became his student, assistant and Co-teacher.

Watsu is a passive form of aquatic therapy that supports and gently moves a person through warm water in graceful, fluid movements. Watsu promotes a deep state of relaxation with dramatic chages in the autonomic nervous system. Through quieting and enhancing the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, watsu encourages the release of stress and tensions.

Watsu is a new approach to hydrotherapy, which combines eastern meridian and point work with myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and breathwork. Watsu is highly effective in restoring sensory perception and motor control as well as increasing range of motion and reducing muscular spasticity and has proven a profoundly effective tool in pain management.
